What if I told you that you could make $5,000 to $10,000 dollars a month using just Google Maps—without needing any tech skills or spending a dime to get started?
It might sound crazy, but this method is completely doable. In fact, anyone can start today—even if you’ve never done online marketing or used Google Maps before.
I’ve personally used this exact system to help businesses all over the country boost their visibility on Google Maps, and it’s generated thousands of dollars in recurring revenue for me.
And the opportunity right now is massive. Every day, thousands of businesses are losing customers because their Google Maps profiles are incomplete, unclaimed, or poorly optimized, and most of them have no idea.
In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to find these businesses, how to offer simple solutions, and how to get paid upfront for helping them improve their Google Maps presence—all without spending a dime.
And if you stick around, I’ll also show you how to automate the process and scale it into a recurring income stream that can easily hit $10,000, $20,000, even $50,000 a month or more, using just Google Maps and a few powerful tools.
So let’s dive in now starting with Step 1.
Step 1: Find Businesses on Google Business Profile
The first step in this entire process is identifying the right businesses to target using Google Business Profile. This is where the magic starts, and the good news is that it’s incredibly simple.
You can search for businesses in any city, in any country—it doesn’t have to be in the U.S., though focusing on areas you’re familiar with can give you a strategic advantage. For example, let’s say you choose plumbing businesses in Los Angeles for this demonstration. The same method applies no matter the service industry—whether it’s roofing, carpet cleaning, landscaping, auto repair, or HVAC services.
Before diving into the search, it’s important to understand why service-based businesses are ideal for this strategy:
High-ticket services: Most service-based businesses charge anywhere from $500 to $10,000+ per job (e.g., roofing, HVAC, or plumbing). This means they can justify spending money on lead generation, reviews, and SEO because each new customer is highly valuable.
Fierce local competition: Many local businesses rely on being visible on Google to bring in new clients. With service industries, customers often choose the first business they see with good reviews and a professional presence. That’s why these businesses are eager to pay for optimizations that boost their ranking on Google Business Profile.
Easily identifiable gaps: A lot of these businesses either haven’t claimed their profiles, have very few reviews, or haven’t taken the time to properly optimize their listings. This makes them easy targets for improvement, which is where you come in.
So now that you know why we’re targeting local service businesses, it’s time to find them. Here’s how to conduct a targeted search:
Open Google and search for your niche and city. Type something like “Plumbing Los Angeles” into the search bar.
Look for the ‘Local Pack.’ This is the box that shows local business results, complete with a map and the top three businesses listed directly underneath it. The Local Pack is prime real estate for any business, and getting your client here can lead to a huge surge of new calls and inquiries.
Click ‘More Places.’ This will expand the list of businesses to show you all the local results for that specific niche. This is where you’ll start evaluating which businesses to target.
Once you’re in the More Places section, you’ll notice a variety of businesses popping up. Some have hundreds of reviews; others have very few—that’s where the opportunity lies. So here’s what to focus on:
Few or no reviews: If you find a business with fewer than 20 reviews, they’re likely being overlooked by potential customers. Remember, when someone searches for a service, they’re more likely to choose a business with strong social proof (i.e., lots of positive reviews). Businesses with low review counts are prime targets because they’re not making the most of this valuable marketing tool.
Unclaimed profiles: Some businesses won’t have claimed their Google Business Profile at all. If they haven’t claimed their listing, this is a huge problem for them—and a huge opportunity for you. An unclaimed profile means they’re missing out on the ability to control how their business appears in search results, respond to reviews, and post updates or promotions. It also leaves their business vulnerable to competitors who might try to claim it on their behalf.
Incomplete listings: Look for businesses with missing information, like no website link, no business hours, or no description. A complete and optimized profile is critical for ranking well on Google, so businesses with incomplete listings need immediate help—and you can offer it.
And while the basic search is effective, here are some advanced strategies to help you find even better targets:
Explore underserved niches: While roofing, HVAC, and plumbing are great examples, think about other underserved niches. For instance, businesses like doggy daycares, pool cleaning services, or mobile car detailers often have fewer competitors with optimized profiles, giving you a stronger entry point.
Search small towns or suburbs: Major cities can be competitive, but businesses in smaller towns or suburbs may be lagging even further behind in terms of their Google presence. These businesses are often overlooked but are still highly valuable. They are usually more responsive because they know how critical online visibility is to their business survival.
Use location modifiers: If you don’t get many results in one city, try adding location-based keywords to expand your search. For example, instead of “Pest Control Las Vegas,” you might try “Pest Control Henderson,” or use modifiers like “near me” or specific neighborhoods like “Summerlin pest control.”
Evaluating Your Search Results
Now that you’ve pulled up your list of potential targets, it’s time to evaluate which businesses are worth reaching out to. Here are the key factors to consider:
Low review count: As mentioned earlier, businesses with less than 20 reviews are prime targets. You can help them build their review count to boost their credibility and attract more clients.
Unclaimed profile status: This is a huge red flag for a business but an opportunity for you. Offer to help them claim and optimize their profile—it’s the first step toward improving their online visibility.
Outdated or missing details: If their business hours, contact information, or services are missing or incorrect, point this out in your outreach. Business owners don’t always realize how many potential customers they’re losing because their profiles are incomplete.
No website or poor website: A business without a website or with a low-quality, outdated site is another major opportunity. Even a simple website vastly improves a company’s online presence and credibility. You can offer to build them a professional, optimized website that reflects their services and builds trust with potential customers.
Finding the right businesses on Google Business Profile is the foundation of this entire strategy. You’re targeting businesses that already know the importance of being visible online—they just haven’t optimized their listings yet. These are businesses that want more customers, need better reviews, and are often willing to pay someone to help them.
And here’s the beauty: by offering these optimizations, you’re providing an immediate solution to their pain points. You’re helping them get more visibility, more leads, and more customers—all by fixing issues they didn’t even realize they had.
Automating the Search with HighLevel’s Prospecting Tool
When it comes to prospecting for local businesses, manually searching and gathering information can be tedious and time-consuming. That’s where HighLevel’s Prospecting Tool comes in. This powerful feature allows you to automate the lead generation process by finding local businesses, analyzing their online presence, and generating detailed marketing audit reports—all with just a few clicks.
The Prospecting Tool is designed specifically for agencies and businesses that want to efficiently find potential clients, analyze their online presence, and convert them into customers. It helps you identify businesses in need of improvement by analyzing their Google Business Profile listings, reviews, and other key marketing metrics.
With this tool, you can generate a comprehensive Marketing Audit Report that highlights the gaps in a business’s online marketing strategy—making it easier for you to offer solutions and win them over as clients.
So let me show you how it works.
Access the Prospecting Tab: From the HighLevel dashboard, click on the Prospecting tab in the left-hand menu.
Search for Prospects: Enter the type of business you’re targeting, such as “Restaurants near me” or “Law Firms near me,” along with the location. HighLevel will then display a list of businesses based on your search criteria.
View Business Details: Click on any business from the list to view more details about their online presence. You can also enter a Point of Contact (POC) if you have their details, making it easier to manage your outreach.
Generate the Marketing Audit Report: HighLevel’s Prospecting Tool will automatically generate a Marketing Audit Report that shows the business’s Online Health Score, along with a detailed breakdown of their listings and reviews. This report provides the data you need to present a compelling case for how you can improve their online presence.
- Analyze the Report: The report is divided into two main sections:
- Listings: This section shows the number of directory listings the business has across 70+ online directories, the accuracy of their information, and where they’re missing listings. Having accurate listings across directories is crucial for improving a business’s online visibility.
- Reviews: The Reviews section provides a breakdown of the business’s reputation based on their Google Business Profile and Facebook reviews. A solid online reputation is key to attracting new customers, and businesses with poor or few reviews are ideal candidates for your services.
- Share the Report with the Prospect: After generating the report, you can easily share it with your prospects. Simply click the Share Report button, and you’ll get a link that you can send to the business owner. This makes it easy to present the issues in their online presence and propose your services as the solution.
- Track Your Prospects: HighLevel saves all the prospect locations you’ve searched for, allowing you to revisit and manage each prospect’s details. If a business isn’t relevant, you can also remove it from your dashboard.
Step 3: Reaching Out to Businesses
Once you’ve identified your target businesses using Google Maps or tools like HighLevel’s Prospecting Tool the next crucial step is reaching out to them. A lot of people get nervous at this point, but trust me—it’s actually much simpler than you might think, especially if you follow a structured approach.
The key to successful outreach is in your personalization and value-driven messaging. You need to make it crystal clear to the business owner that you’ve done your homework, understand their pain points, and have a specific solution tailored to their needs. Generic outreach won’t cut it.
So here’s how to craft a high-converting outreach message that not only gets responses but also opens the door to valuable conversations.
First you need to understand that personalization is crucial. Sending a message that simply says, “Hey, you need more reviews,” won’t grab anyone’s attention. Business owners are constantly bombarded with emails, calls, and messages, so the more personalized and specific you can make your outreach, the better.
So take the time to mention specifics about their business (e.g., their review count, competitors, website issues)
Acknowledge any strengths you’ve noticed in their online presence (e.g., positive reviews or the fact they’ve been in business for years)
And then point out a specific gap in their strategy that you can help solve.
A well-personalized message doesn’t just look like you’re pitching them—it shows that you’re already invested in helping them solve their problems.
Here’s a template you can use to reach out effectively over email.
At the end of the video I’ll also tell you how you can get copies of these emails, DM’s, basically my entire marketing system for completely free.
So here’s what the email looks like:
Hi [First Name],
I noticed your Google Business Profile is getting some great reviews—nice work! That said, I see that [Competitor Name] is leading in review count. I’d be happy to share a simple script and review getting strategy that’s been helping my clients get 15+ new 5-star reviews every week.
Just let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send it right over.
Another shorter version of this you can use is:
Hi [First Name],
I saw you’ve been doing well with reviews on Google, but I’ve got a script and simple review getting strategy that can help you double your 5-star reviews in no time. It’s a simple strategy, and it’s working wonders for my clients.
Is it alright if I share it with you?
This Template Works because it Hooks the Reader with a Positive. You start by acknowledging something positive about their business, which immediately shows you’ve done your research and aren’t just sending out a blanket pitch. Everyone likes a compliment, especially when it’s about something they take pride in, like customer feedback.
It Creates a Contrast: Pointing out that their competitors might be pulling ahead in review counts creates a subtle sense of urgency. This motivates the business owner to take action because they don’t want to fall behind.
It Offers Immediate Value: You offer a free tool (the review request script) that promises immediate, actionable results. Business owners appreciate tangible solutions, especially when they’re easy to implement and drive real outcomes (in this case, more reviews).
And it Leverages Curiosity with Review Getting: Introducing the concept of review getting piques curiosity.
If you don’t hear back from your first message, don’t be discouraged. Follow up after a few days with a short, value-packed nudge. Keep it light but focused on offering something beneficial.
Here’s a follow-up example:
Hi [First Name],
I wanted to quickly follow up regarding the script and review getting strategy I mentioned. It’s been getting some amazing results for other businesses like yours, and I think it could really help you close the gap on reviews compared to [Competitor Name].
Let me know if you’re interested—I’d be happy to walk you through it or share the script so you can try it yourself!
So the next question then is, what happens after they say “Yes”, send it over, I wanna get me some of them positive reviews you’re talking about.
Well the next step then is book a quick call to show them the “systems proof” with review getting and offer to install it for them to help them get more reviews for anywhere from $200 to $300 per month.
Then, either during the call or after you’ve got them a few positive results you can offer them the next service that you can help them with.
Do NOT send them all the details over email. This makes it too easy for them to ghost you and believe that they have all the information they need. Price without context is just a random number and it’s going to look high or low, likely high, without the proper explanation of what it includes and how that’s going to help them.
So what should you offer next then?
Well for businesses without a website, or with a terrible or outdated website, then a free website template is HUGE, so I’ll talk more about that in just a second.
For businesses that already have a website, offering something like missed call text back OR an AI Employee is the next best option. More on that in just a second too.
But Local SEO that focuses on their Google Business Profile is probably one of my favorite offers for most businesses and you can sell that for anywhere from $500 to $1500 per month on the low end.
By the way, all of this can be done with the software I’ve been talking about, HighLevel.
But let’s talk about building a new template website first.
Step 4: Building and Optimizing Websites
Many of these businesses either don’t have a website, or their site isn’t optimized. But here’s the good news: you don’t need to be a web developer to create a professional-looking website for them.
Using drag-and-drop templates makes this incredibly simple. Here’s what you do:
- Plug in the client’s logo and basic business info
- Use AI-generated content to fill in the text
And just like that, you’ve created a polished, professional website in minutes.
Next, let’s talk about AI Employees and missed call text back.
Step 5: AI Employee & Missed Call Text Back
If you’re looking to make money online by helping business owners capture more leads and never miss a call, HighLevel’s Voice AI Agents (Beta) and Missed Call Text Back features are exactly what you need. These tools can be a game-changer for small businesses because they automate communication and help businesses make sure no customer ever falls through the cracks.
Here’s how you can sell these features to local businesses and show them just how much revenue they’re leaving on the table by not being responsive enough starting with an AI Employee
Voice AI Agents (Beta): Their 24/7 Virtual Assistant
Picture this: it’s after hours, and potential customers are calling a local business. Normally, those calls would go unanswered. But with Voice AI Agents, businesses have an AI-powered assistant ready to answer calls, gather important info, and keep customers engaged—even when no one’s in the office.
When you pitch this to business owners, here’s what you’ll want to highlight:
Why Businesses Love This:
- 24/7 Coverage: They’ll never miss a lead again. Whether it’s a busy lunch hour or late at night, the AI agent answers every call.
- Lead Capture on Autopilot: The AI gathers key details like name, contact info, and why the customer’s calling, so the business can follow up later and close the deal.
- Seamless Experience: It’s like having a virtual assistant without the cost of hiring someone full-time. Plus, it creates a professional image for the business.
For business owners, this means no more missed calls, no more missed revenue. You can easily show them how valuable it is to have someone—or rather, something—that picks up every single call.
Oh by the way, at the end of the video I’ll also show you how you can get a free copy of that website I just showed you, as well as all of the automations and everything built right into it so you can start offering those services to clients today, no experience needed.
OK next up missed call text back.
Missed Call Text Back: A Simple Fix for Lost Opportunities
Here’s a little secret: 62% of calls to small businesses go unanswered, and most customers move on to the next business. That’s a huge problem for local businesses, but here’s the fix: Missed Call Text Back.
With this feature, whenever a call is missed, an automatic text message is sent to the caller right away. So even if the business can’t answer, they can keep the conversation going and avoid losing the lead.
Why This Is a Game-Changer for Business Owners:
Instant Response: Customers get a text within seconds of a missed call, reassuring them that their inquiry is important.
Personalized Messages: Businesses can customize the text to fit their brand, like: “Hi [Customer Name], sorry we missed your call! How can we assist you?”
Recover Lost Revenue: With so many missed calls, this feature helps businesses recover leads and turn those into paying customers.
This feature is a no-brainer for local businesses. You can sell it as a quick, easy way for them to increase conversions without needing to change anything in their day-to-day operations. It’s as simple as setting it up, and boom—they’re immediately capturing more leads.
But here’s the best thing of all about these tools: businesses are already losing money by missing calls and not being able to follow up quickly enough. All you’re doing is showing them how to stop those leaks and keep more customers engaged.
With AI Employees, they’ll never miss a lead, and with Missed Call Text Back, even when they do miss a call, they’ll have a way to keep the customer interested. Both features are easy to set up and highly valuable for any business that depends on phone calls to generate revenue.
You can position yourself as the person who helps businesses capture every opportunity, while building a solid income stream for yourself by offering these features.
OK next up let’s talk about one of my favorites which is Local SEO.
Step 5: Local SEO
SEO or search engine optimization is often made to seem way more complicated than it actually is, especially for local businesses.
In fact, depending on how competitive the search term is, often all you need to do to rank number 1 at the top of Google ist just make sure to completely fill out a businesses Google Business Profile, build a bunch of citations for it, which are really just backlinks that we can buy for a couple bucks a pop, and then try to get as many positive reviews as we can.
Now if you’ve never done this before I appreciate that it might sound a bit overwhelming but trust me when I tell you that anyone can learn this, and offering this skill can you make you a lot of money so it’s well worth your time.
Plus, like pretty much everything else I’ve talked about today you can use software to automate pretty much all of this.
For example, inside HighLevel I can launch a review generating campaign to get more reviews, and I can build citations with the click of a button using something called Yext.
And I gotta be honest, that’s kinda it.
So next, let’s talk about how to scale your income with recurring clients.
Step 6: Scaling Your Income with Recurring Clients
Here’s where this gets exciting: once you’ve set up their website and improved their Google ranking, you’ve built a system that generates recurring income and clients will keep paying you month after month to maintain it. You are now a must have service because they cant afford to lose you and they’re usually unwilling or unable to do this all themselves.
Let’s break this down: If you sign just 10 clients at $300 per month, that’s an extra $3,000 in recurring income. Get 20 clients, and you’re at $6,000 a month—and remember, this is from work you set up once but get paid for month after month.
Add in a little local seo at $1000 a month and with just 4 more clients you’re now at $10,000 a month.
Want to scale this beyond $10,000 a month? Well that’s where outsourcing comes in. You can hire virtual assistants (VAs) to handle the repetitive tasks, like SEO or building websites. This allows you to take on more clients without having to do everything yourself.
With a few simple systems in place, you can scale this to $20,000 per month and beyond without increasing your workload.
The best part of all of this though is that you can do all of this from anywhere. Whether you want to do this as a side hustle or turn it into a full-time business, this model gives you the freedom to work from your laptop.
This system is a no-brainer for you to sell and for businesses to buy. Because there’s a free trial to the software you can get your first client and get paid before you spend any money, and you can scale it as fast and as big as you want.
So if you’d like to get access to everything that I mentioned here in this video including my complete marketing system, the client getting scripts, even the complete AI Employee website and systems and templates and everything, all for free, all you’ve gotta do is click the link below this video, sign up for a free 30-day trial with HighLevel which is the software we use to do all of this, and you’re good to go.
