Imagine for a second a BBQ food truck parked outside of a vegan health conference at lunch time.
Or a senior women’s fitness club sending out direct mail pieces to men under 30.
Or a golf course advertising to people who like watching the “Dr. Oz Show”
Sure they may get 1 or 2 sales… but that’s going to be some seriously expensive and completely irrelevant marketing!
While these examples are kind of extreme.
This type of thing goes on every. Single. Day.
In some combination or another MOST marketing is missing the mark (as in probably close to 80% of the marketing I see… which doesn’t even include all the stuff I don’t see!)
To connect you need to nail 3 things:
- Right market
- Right message
- Right media
That’s what it’s all about.
Get them right? Success is yours!
Get them wrong? Success it not yours! (I know that wasn’t a very profound statement but you get the point)
So go get ’em!
And make sure you’re doing the right things in the right place for the right people.
