Email marketing is important.
Really important.
No matter what business, market, or industry you’re in you NEED to be using email marketing. (BTW after trying every email service provider under the sun, I now use Drip and love them!)
But like all things in marketing, email marketing comes with its set of unique challenges.
One of those challenges are the people on your email list who don’t open, click, or take any action whatsoever with your precious and carefully crafted emails.
Frustrating, eh?
You pour your heart and soul into an email, go to considerable lengths in an attempt to shower them with value in order to help them achieve all their wildest dreams and goals (or at the very least help them do what they signed up to do in the first place)…
And then they just ignore you?
The nerve!
So what should you do with them?
Simple: delete them and move on.
It’s not personal. (And if it is personal well then that’s on them, not you!)
But keeping deadweight on your email list (or customer database, or social media following, or contact database, etc) is useless and helps neither them nor you.
My rule?
90 Days.
If someone doesn’t open an email or click a link in 90 days, I simply remove them from the list.
No tearful goodbyes. No come back soon email. And no attempt to “win them back” with a value bomb series. After all, if they ain’t clicking, they ain’t interested. And I only want to help those who are willing to help themselves.
(Wanna secure a spot on the list for at least the next 90 days 😉 Here’s a 4:28 video on video marketing I think you’ll find helpful: https://youtu.be/PT4tU9vRyV)
