“Run fast and don’t look down“.
I went hang gliding for the first time 7 years ago in Switzerland….
… In the middle of the Swiss Alps (BIG mountains) …
… And THAT was the advice my instructor gave me …
“Run fast and don’t look down”.
… As we sprinted off the edge of a cliff ….
So I ran.
And didn’t look down. (Here’s a clip from my training session: https://www.facebook.com/erhart.adam/videos/10150281785575543/)
And if I stalled? Hesitated? Or resisted jumping off that cliff?
Well… the outcome would have been falling off a cliff rather than soaring like a bird and having the time of my life.
Funny thing is I took my cousin out mountain biking the other day and found myself yelling back very similar advice as we peddled over a (very) narrow bridge that hovered 15 feet above jagged rocks and swayed as we rode it. I grew up doing this and it still kinda freaks me out. So I yelled back what those who came before me taught me…
“Just peddle fast, look forward, and don’t look down”
And so now I get to offer you the same advice.
But we’re not talking about jumping off cliffs or riding down mountains.
- We’re talking about pushing “PUBLISH” on that blog post.
- Hitting record on that microphone for your first podcast.
- Or pressing “GO LIVE” for your first Facebook Livestream.
All of these will push you, your business, and your comfort level to their extremes…
But all are incredibly rewarding.
It turns out the advice to “Run fast and don’t look down” applies just as well to marketing as it does to hang gliding.
Life’s short. Don’t hesitate. Publish now.
