Outspend your competition

Accounting ain’t really my thing.

I had to take it back in college for my marketing degree (why? I’ll never know but it was not fun) and I barely squeaked by with a C-.

But I get that it’s important. After all what gets measured gets managed and making money is an important part of being in business after all.

Which is why I’m so thankful to have such an amazing financial team behind me now so I can focus on my “area of genius” without getting lost in something that makes my head hurt.

So what got my onto this topic was that I was meeting with my accountant yesterday to go over a few things and after the pleasantries and “how are the kids?” type of convo was completed he looked me right in the eye and said:

“Adam, you’re doing amazing. What are you doing differently than so many others?”

And so I stopped. Thought for a second. And then had a WAVE of answers come over me like:

  • I still study at least an hour (normally 1.5 hours) each and every single day
  • I surround myself with others who are WAY further ahead than me, as well as some at my level, and some that I can help pull up along the way too
  • I constantly raise my own bar of what an “acceptable” level of success is
  • And I do more, give more, serve more, and create more every chance I get

And while all of those were true – looking back – there was one crucial piece of business advice I learned from Alan Weiss who taught me the strategy of “outspending your competition”

Here’s how it works.

First, dedicate, commit, and swear to invest at least 10% of your revenues back into your marketing (at LEAST!)

  • If you’re making $10,000 then this is $1000.
  • If you’re making $100,000 then this is $10,000
  • If you’re making $1,000,000 then this is $100,000
  • If you’re making $10,000,000 then this is $1,000,000

You get the picture.

Over time as your business grows this number will only continue to rise and what started as a $1,000 marketing budget now becomes a $100,000 marketing budget and you my friend become…. “uncatchable”

You’ve created a gap between you and the competition that is so wide, so deep, and so chasm-like that they’ll never be able to catch you and you’ll just go on growing, helping, serving, profiting, growing, helping, serving, profiting, and on, and on, and on.

But like the ancient proverb goes “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today”

Click here to start today and start building that chasm – and it won’t cost you $1,000,000 to do it: https://adamerhart.lpages.co/opt-print-newsletter-waitlist/ (Plus… if you get on the early notification list, I’m going to be giving away some pretty sweet bonuses when it goes live)
