I’m reading a really interesting book right now called “Bluefishing”
It’s the true story of Steve Sims who is basically a guy who “gets stuff done”
No matter what stuff you need done.
From playing on stage with your favorite band to having dinner at the Vatican – this guy can hook you up.
I’m only a few pages in so I’m reserving judgment BUT… there was a quote in there I came across that I had to share.
Ready?
It was…
“Don’t be easy to understand, be impossible to misunderstand”
Which basically means…
Simplify.
There’s a time and a place for confusing, convoluted, and Confucius like sayings but if you’re struggling to grow at the rate you know you’re capable of it may just be time to simplify.
An example of this I’m seeing right now is with one of my Facebook Ads e-commerce clients. The most sales are coming from our most simple funnel… An ad which leads to a page which offers only 1 single thing for sale.
That’s it.
Ad –> Sales page with 1 single item for sale
We tested adding more but the results were always the same…
The more things for sale on the page the lower the sales.
(Keeping it simple has resulted in $124,680 in sales from just one simple Ad)
So don’t just be easy to understand. Be impossible to misunderstand.
