What the Most Successful People Have in Common

Over my years as a marketing strategist (aka grower of businesses)…

…I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients in a LOT of different industries.

I’ve worked with coaches, consultants, trainers, speakers, authors, photographers, videographers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, chiropractors, pharmacists, auto mechanics, neurofeedback practitioners, colleges (both private and government funded), grocery stores, furniture stores, hardware stores, non-profits, financial management advisors, and we could go on and on …

And this doesn’t even begin to include the THOUSANDS of students I’ve had the privilege of teaching, helping, and mentoring.

So trust me when I say I’ve pretty much seen it all.

The good.

The bad.

The ugly.

And the AMAZING.

But it’s from these 4 categories (the good, bad, ugly, and amazing) that I want to share with you the ONE single trait that all my most successful clients and students have shared.

It’s clearly not their industry (as I’ve worked with them all)

It’s not their business size (I’ve worked with startups all the way to billion dollar corporations)

And it’s not their location, customer base, pricing structure, business model, or even level of customer service (though all those help contribute in varying degrees)

Nope.

The ONE single trait that all my most successful clients and students have shared is:

A propensity towards action.

Basically…

When given the choice between taking action and NOT taking action…

They chose action.

Every. Single. Time.

They didn’t question every suggestion I made. They didn’t run our strategy by a committee. And they didn’t hum and haw and ponder the opportunity away (because things move fast)

Instead…

If I said “We need to leverage a YouTube marketing strategy” they would go out and hire a videographer or buy a camera (sometimes that very same day)

If I said we need to put more time and money into content marketing the next thing I knew I was being introduced to their chief copywriter to map out a quarterly content plan.

And if I said we need to test 3 different lead magnets in order to lower our CPL’s by 80% the next thing I knew I had an email in my inbox with 3 brand new PDF drafts for potential lead magnets.

If I said jump… they wouldn’t just ask how high…

They would jump as high as they could.

Maybe the first jump wasn’t that high.

But I promise you by exercising the action muscle each time they got stronger… And stronger… And stronger.

Until their competition became irrelevant (they would never be able to catch up)

And their revenues surpassed their minimum, target, and even optimal objective.

So my friend…

The secret isn’t some shiny new funnel. An instagram hack. A Facebook Ad targeting secret. Or a video content strategy.

It’s action.

Simple. But not easy. Action.

Of course it helps if you know you’re taking the right actions which is where this comes in: https://www.modernmarketingacademy.com/

Keep taking action. And don’t settle for “good” when “AMAZING” is just around the corner.
