How To Create Content Fast

You probably already know about the business boosting, income generating, authority elevating power that content marketing can have on your business.

Which means you also probably know that for it to be effective, you have to deliver quality content and you have to do it consistently.

But you’re busy, and time is tight! So how can you regularly provide your audience with valuable and engaging content without needing to spend hours and hours creating it?

Well that’s what this video is all about, and I’ve got 7 ways to help you create great content fast without sacrificing time, sanity, or quality.

Anyone can create content. But creating quality content that keeps your audience engaged is a whole different story.

Your customers and clients are more selective than ever before in deciding where and who to devote their time and attention to.

As much as I’d love to tell you it’s a walk in the park, I’m not gonna claim that creating high caliber content doesn’t require some form of effort, BUT if you’re committed to growing your business in the long run then you know content marketing is the key, so I’ve got a few ways you can create high quality content faster than you ever thought possible.

Create Content Fast Tip #1: Have a Strategy

Our good buddy Benjamin Franklin once said:

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

This rings true in almost any aspect of marketing, and content is no exception.

Without drawing up a clear strategy to guide your content, you risk wasting time and effort on creating pieces that fail to connect with your target audience.

So before you write that blog post, record that podcast, or script that video, get clear on who your target audience is, what type of content resonates with them and how they prefer to consume it.

Build every piece of content on that foundation and you won’t be spinning your wheels with revisions, do-overs, or content that just doesn’t connect.

Create Content Fast Tip #2: Plan Ahead

Ask most marketers and they’ll tell you their biggest struggle isn’t creating content, it’s consistently coming up with new topic ideas!

So if it seems like your time and mental energy are spent brainstorming ideas rather than actually creating the content itself, you’re not alone.

What’s the fix?

It circles back to preparation.

Try mapping out a list of topics in advance and scheduling their publish dates in a content calendar.

Taking the time to plan out a month’s worth of content might seem counterproductive. But a content calendar takes much of the guesswork out of the creation process, ultimately allowing you to focus on churning out high quality content much more quickly.

Create Content Fast Tip #3: Keep an Idea Bank

It happens to all of us.

Right as you’re about to fall asleep, you get a stellar idea for a Facebook Live video or topic for a new podcast episode.

You tell yourself you’ll remember in the morning but that’s usually not the way the story unfolds.

As I mentioned, half the battle of content creation is coming up with ideas so I suggest having a system in place to shelf that golden nugget for a rainy day.

A free tool like Evernote stores and organizes your notes and is both web and mobile friendly. But that’s just one of many options available to start keeping an idea bank that you can refer back to come when it comes time to craft that next piece of content.

If all else fails, a pen and a piece of paper work pretty well too.

Create Content Fast Tip #4: Focus on One

What if I told you one piece of content a week could cover most of your content needs?

That’s possible using the power of repurposing.

Say you invest some time into writing an exceptional blog post, maybe 1,000 plus words, that covers a topic in depth.

You can then segment that text into 3 or 4 bite size scripts for videos.

Or maybe interview an industry expert on your podcast and use the show notes as a standalone blog post.

From slides to social media posts, Tweetable tips to Infographics, one well-thought-out piece of content can be converted into just about any marketing medium and eliminate the need to generate multiple ideas from scratch.

So focus on producing that single content piece with the intention of carving it up, and get more work done in half the time and with half the effort.

Create Content Fast Tip #5: Keep it simple

This tip is pretty straight forward but it can’t be stressed enough.

Simplifying your message keeps your content consumable and also requires less time to create.

Avoid overwhelming your audience by choosing one objective and one relevant topic to build out over the span of your content.

Keep your supporting points clear, concise and easy for your audience to follow.

And if you’re just starting out, stick to topics you’re knowledgeable about and most familiar with so you’re not devoting a ton of time to research.

You’re more likely to capture and keep the attention of your target market with focused, uncomplicated information.

So again, keep it simple. Simple works. And simple sells.

Create Content Fast Tip #6: Set a timer

We tend to drag our feet when we know there’s time to complete a project.

If we have a week, we’ll take a week.

But if we have a day, that sense of urgency sharpens our focus and motivates us to deliver during crunch time.

You can apply this same concept to quicken your content creation process by setting a timer and pressing yourself to finish before the time is up.

This not only forces you to make progress at a steady pace, it builds a creative momentum that prevents you from losing your train of thought.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little pressure to produce some seriously valuable gems.
