Lessons Learned from Wearing Vests

I’m no fashion connoisseur (and no spelling whiz either as I had to Google how to spell that word, by the way). But one piece of clothing has always confused me more than any other.

The vest.

It’s just one of those things I never really understood.

Was having warm arms but a cold torso really so much of a big deal that they had to dedicate an entire article of clothing to solving the problem?

Apparently so.

Now don’t get me wrong. Just because I don’t fully understand vests does not mean I don’t like them. In fact, I’ve been known to wear a vest or two in my time (just not at the same time).

After all, someone much more fashionable than I am told me there was a time and a place to wear a vest – and so I listened. Because they knew how great vests were and I just had to trust them.

So when you come across something new in your business or a novel marketing strategy that you know will work (because you’ve seen it work for others, or have solid evidence that it’s a sound tactic) but you don’t fully understand it – it’s time to take my vest position and just try it on.

The worst thing that will happen is that it may not work. But you’ll never know if you don’t try.

** Warning: due diligence and going in prepared are always a good idea! But you knew that already 😉
