It’s 7am and I’m sitting on the couch watching Paw Patrol with my son.
(I try to limit screen time as much as possible but sometimes it’s an all too convenient digital babysitter… and he loves this show beyond words… and it might be growing on me too!)
So in the episode we’re watching, one of the pups (Marshall, the firefighter pup) mistakenly overhears the other pups saying some not so nice things about him like he’s clumsy, goofy, and essentially, just not as awesome as he really is. (Pffft… what do they know anyway)
Marshall in turn takes this personally (who wouldn’t!) and heads out on his own feeling under appreciated and unloved. Poor pup.
Turns out however that the other pups weren’t really talking about Marshall, but about a bad guy in one of their favorite shows.
But it doesn’t matter.
The damage has been done.
Perception = Reality
Which is why it’s so important to take full and absolute control of your businesses marketing, branding, and image.
Because if you don’t plant a flag in the ground and state who you are, what you do, and what you stand for….
Someone else will.
And they will very likely be wrong.
Your business is your business.
